Stunning Dics Sighted Twice
On Long Island
LEVITTOWN, LONG ISLAND - Dave Hagemeister reports on September 1, 1999, Ed
G. a well educated married professional heard a very unusual throbbing-sound
that reverberated throughout his home. It was a rapidly cycling hum or
whine-sound; that fluctuated in volume. The strange pulsating gong sound
became louder and awakened Ed's wife at 10:00 PM. She called out loudly;
"Ed, do you hear that strange noise?" She parted the bedroom curtains and
saw an eerie-blue-glow in their backyard. Ed cautiously opened their
front-door; to see a huge disk-shaped UFO, the size of a
commercial-airliner, hovering 130 feet high just a few yards above the
water-tower several blocks away. The object was very dark and dull circular
disc that tapered from its thin edge all around its perimeter to seven feet
thick at its center. The UFO tilted down toward Ed at a 45-degree angle. Ed
could see a straight line of a dozen steadily glowing blue-lights, extending
from the lower edge directly across its midsection, to the edge furthest
from him. There was a larger bright blinking blue light at farthest edge of
the object. His wife ran to see the object move slowly towards the
southeast. Ed ran barefoot out of the house and down the street to follow
the object, then returned for his camera but was unable to get a photo. He
was surprised to realize that no one else had come outside to investigate
the loud throbbing sounds. Three nights later, on September 4th, they saw
the craft and heard the throbbing-sounds again at 11:00 PM. They decided to
remain inside in the security of their home.

It was a "star" on a clear summer night at about 10:00 p.m.two years ago.  I
observed it for between 15 and 45 seconds.  The star was moving due south
and was viewed by me at approximately
80 degrees up from the horizon as I viewed it east of me from my driveway on
the western city boundary of Yakima in Washington State.  (It moved like a
satellite at first--no blinking, just a "star" moving in a straight path at
a continuous rate.)  Then it stopped. ...

(Note:  Immediately after seeing it I e-mailed a description to  my brother,
which I have reread many times; I say this ng and looked for that letter,
but I must have cleaned itout a month ago.)

...It stopped and became stationary relative to the surrounding stars.  The
stop was instantaneous.  (By the way, I removed my glasses and put them back

on to make sure I was not observing a reflection.  I was not looking at this

through my windshiled; I was standing in front of the station wagon, looking

up over the  gable of my garage.  It now appeared a stationary star
surrounded
by other stars of equal and lesser brightness.  Then it expanded into a disc

(disc as in moon, not disc as in frisbee or saucer) of perhaps 1/5 to
1/8 the diameter of the moon, and paler than its light intensity as a star.
It could have been translucent or like glowing cloud (but perfectly round
and uniform).  I thought of an explosion, but it expanded to the diameter
mentioned above and then stopped expanding all at once.  The expansion
lasted
only 1 to 3 seconds.

It stayed in this expanded state (still motionless with respect to the
positions of neighboring stars) and then it shrunk back (at the same
apparant
rate it had expanded) back to a star again.

It remained a star for perhaps another 1 to 4 seconds and then the star
dimmed and went out, exactly as if someone had casually turned down the
dimmer switch to turn off a light.  I do not remember if it stared moving
south again before it faded;  but if it did it stopped before it faded
(winked out, dimmed out) because I could remember wondering whether it
actually dimmed or (an after thought) whether it  simply receded very fast
straight away from me  as I watched it at 80
degrees above the horizon from Yakima.

In 1956 or 57 I saw ball lightning flying over Oakland California, but
nothing since.  (I have not seen another anomaly in over 40 years until
this one.)

I have heard about flying saucers and I must admit that I look up hoping to
see them from time to time; and I have read Frank Edward's book (late 1960's
I think) and skimmed several others over the years. (I am inclined to
believe
UFO's are either ET or the project of some German "Manhatten Project" that
was taken over by (someone?) after World War II.

I did call my wife and teenage daughters to see the object, but, as usual,
they didn't hear me.

I do write to newsgroups about the danger posed by Red China and about
Clinton's highly suspicious relationship to China and the mob--but on the
other hand I hold a masters deree in experimental psychology from
Western Michigan U. and a masters degree from Texas A & M in economics.
I do not drink or take drugs.  I was not overly tired as I recall.

Finally most air traffic over Yakima moves from (to) east to (from) west.
We have an airport and lots of planes are coming in all the time with
landing
lights on. This was nothing like that.  If I just saw the moving "star" I
would have assumed it was a stratosphereic jet or a satellite.

My only conclusion is that there is technology up there that I have not been
told about--that violates all my expectations of what human-made craft (or
meteors) can do.   Incidentally I did see that big green meteor of several
months or a year ago,
which I was told at work many of  Art Bell's audience thought was a UFO--I
new at once it was a meteor, even before its trail had faded (this time my
daughters were with me, one saw it and didn't know what it was) .

In the encounter, which took place over Germany in the early 1950s,
Cooper saw "flights of fighters flying by in the same sort of
formation we flew, moving east to west." The U.S. Air Force base
scrambled its own pilots, including Cooper, who remembers the objects
as looking "just like saucers -- they were metallic looking, but we
couldn't really get close enough to see more than that. You couldn't
see any wings on them."

At the time, Cooper entertained the possibility that the craft might
be a new Soviet design, but "looking back now," he suspects "it was
some kind of extraterrestrial vehicle."

Just thought I'd put my two bob's worth in.

At about the age of 6 or 7, a few family members and I were out in our front
yard.
The place is called Penrith, just outside of Sydney Australia.

On this night, we all saw a huge trangular shaped object.  It was a dense
red.
The object appeared to just roll slowly through the sky.
Every person who was there, still remebers to this day that event.
I have never heard of any other such reports describing an object similar to
the one
I just mentioned.

Anyone else know of any similar sightings?

In 1954, eclipse watchers aboard a BOAC stratocruiser, en route from the US
to Britain, got more than they bargained for when they spied UFOs through
the portholes.
The sighting was reported upon landing in London and the captain interviewed
by a reporter from the BBC.

Captain James Howard told how he, along with his entire crew and some of the
passengers, watched the phenomena for a total of 18 minutes.

He described several small objects, which disappeared and reappeared at
will, and one large one, which was able to change its shape, although "it
was always black in silhouette and there was a clear edge to it".

Eventually, this object disappeared as well.

When pressed about the reality of what he had witnessed, Captain Howard
remained firm:

"There is no question that this was not an illusion...and that it was being

I ADELAIDE MELNDEZ WAS STANDING IN THE PORCH OF 890 CLIFTON AVE.
WE WERE ALL IN A BIRTHDAY PARTY WHEN SUDDENLY I LOOK UP AT THE SKY AND TO MY
SURPRISE I NOTICED A LARGE OBJECT SURROUNDED WITH LIGHTS SLOWLY MOVING TOWARD
OUR DIRECTION. tHAT LARGE ROUND OBJECT WAS COVERED WITH LIGHTS AND WAS THE
BIGGEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.AT THAT POINT I LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT I HAD
SEEN . AT THAT POINT WE ALL RAN TO THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET
THERE WE SAW IT ALOT CLEARER. IT WAS MOVING SLOWLY AND TURNING IT WAS THE MOST
STRANGEST AND MOST EXCITING EXPERIENCE EVER FOR ME. WE STQARTED TO RUN TOWARD
THE AREA IT WAS GOING AND BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE END OF THE BLOCK IT HAD
DISAPEARED. WE CONTINUE TO RUN DOWN VERONA AVE. AND TO MT. PROSPECT AVE. THERE
WE SAW ABOUT 35 TO 40 PEOPLE RUNNING TO THE NEAREST PARK IN BELLEVILLE TO SEE
IF IT HAD LANDED SOMEWHERE. IT HAD REALLY DISAPEARED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO
EVIDENCE NOR SIGNS OF THAT ROUND EXTREMELY LARGE OBJECT WE HAD SEE. AFTER ALL
THAT COMOTION I RETURNED TO THE PARTY AND NOTICED TWO AIRPLANES FLYING OVER US
SO LOW LIKE NEVER BEFORE . AT THAT POINT I GOT ALITTLE SCARED BECAUSE TO ME I
FELT SOMEONE HAD PICKED UP THROUGH RADAR
WHILE WE WHERE ALL RUNNING TOWARDS THE PARK ONE OF THE GENTLEMEN WITH US TOLD
